I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
