The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
